What a phenomenal autumn fly fishing afternoon with Jeff (The Croc-Tamer) at one of his many "hush hush honey holes". We fished a hidden gem of a pond with the help of his friend Mike's boat...It is so rare to have a day like this with so many quality Yellow perch and monster Pickerel coming to hand (they were absolutely on steriods) . Every single yellow perch was all of a pound...they attacked our flies in packs of 4-5 fish fighting over each fly. Every cast fish were striking at the the flies, it was ridulous. After taking a fish off the hook, I would put the fly in the water to get it out of my way, before I could start my cast, there would be another hugh perch bending my Fenwick going nuts.... It was crazy, the fly was just hanging over the boat!!!!....Various colored woolly buggers, tan with a orange bead was the hot fly on my Fenwick rod, Jeff was using a chartreuse cat whisker's and giving a fly fishing lesson with his classic fiberglass Phillipson Master. Now------The Pickerel fishing was OUTSTANDING, it was as if we were on a trip in Canada. Each pickerel was a mature 3-5+ lbs of angry muscle and slashing teeth. I caught my personal best largest fish I have caught this year; it was a monster of a pickerel. These fresh water barracudas don't get the respect they deserve as a great fighting fresh water game fish. They catapult in the air, dive, pull, slash, fight is never ending; when they see the boat, they give you the finger and start another strong fabulous wild run...what a great fighting fish! All toll... we probably caught around 50-60 + fish in 3 hours (Perch and Gators)... Even thou it may be cool outside, Fall is the time to get out and go after some monster pickerel & perch... it is a thrill you won't forget for a long time ...Thanks Mike, for the use of your honey hole, boat , Croc-Tamer, as always thanks for another outstanding fly fishing adventure...

I don't think I will swim in this particular pond after seeing these attack our flies...nasty temper fish for sure
