I'm so excited I had to tell the bass pond fellows. On a whim I took to my home water after work today, a small 30 acre former bog that was flooded to
build houses around and gets stocked in the spring. I've been skunked lately and was pretty sure today would be the same. But I remembered reading a
bluegill book that talked about slowing the retrieve for autumn. Sure enough it worked and from 3PM until 4PM I hit for a bass, crappie, a yellow perch and a
sunfish in that order That's everything in this water and my first time catching (and releasing) all four at one setting. Now that I type this I realize it
may not be all that amazing but it had my blood pumping as it was happening.
