Anyone try this new fly line. It would be great for a bunch of ponds I fish where the crappie & bass are holding in 10-12 feet of water. It's a
weight forward taper floating line with a 5 foot mini sink tip. So I can get down a little deeper but also be able to watch the line and pick it up alot easer
than the sinking line. Any use it?

I am not familiar with this model Teeny but use the Teeny T-130 for fishing deeper drop offs in Cape Cod ponds for trout and smallmouths and like it. Recently picked up a Teeny T-250 for Saltwater and am happy with its performance. |

Based on my experience, a 5' head isn't going to allow you to fish a fly 10' down. ( Better suited to 3-5' depths tops). A standard 10-12'
sink tip will go a little deeper (6-8'?) but be a PITA to cast. If I were wanting to fish at 10-15', and keep my fly at this depth for the longest
period of time, , I'd be fishing a class III or IV full sink or one of the Teeny type 20-24' sink tips. Jeff has it pegged here. The Teeny TS series (
or Cortland/Orvis/SA/Rio/shooting head equivalent ,) will fit the bill perfectly. FWIW, I use a 130 or 150 gr on my 4-5 wt's and a 175 gr on my 5-6 wts,
200-225gr on my 6-8 wts and 275-350 on my 9/10 wts. Very effective lines for getting a fly to this depth and keeping it there. . ( p.s. Shop Ebay and
you'll find them for less than $30 on a regular basis.)
