While we revel in the memories of this past weekend and some of the best warmwater fishing we've ever enjoyed (and the most successful STS gathering by any
measure), it's time to start thinking about September. We talked a little about it during the lunch feast, but might be a good time to throw some ideas
out there for consideration.
One idea that I'll throw out was to hit Lake Rohunta on the Athol/Orange line on Route 2. Easy to get to, and we'd include a stop by a legendary Mass fly fishing shop, Flagg's Fly & Tackle
Rohunta is a salad bowl and would all but require canoes -- mighty tough to fish this pond from a float tube as it's chock-a-block full of lily pads and coontail (I think that's the name for that sub-surface weed). If we want to fish Rohunta, pack heavy rods and weedless flies, but there are some real hogs in this water.
