Went out for an hour just before sunset tonight. Overcast and raw here in N.E. fortunately there wasn't much wind except a the occasional gust. Fished the
goldie for a while in a protected inlet off a point and picked up a yellow Perch, a couple of white Perch and several Calicos ranging from a small six incher
to a large 14 inch one. The large one was the prize of the outing. That one took a synthetic streamer after I sacrificed the goldie . The big calico would have been good eating...

12 hours on the water on Thursday and three fish to show for it. Fishing the Chesapeake was a different experience than I'm used to in New England, though
not completely foreign. We were out during a small craft warning -- windy and intermittent rain with choppy seas. Took water over the bow on one occasion!
No fly rods used as a result of the weather and spent most of the day flinging soft-bodied jigs around bridge pilings. Biggest I boated was 21 inches. Great
fun in spite of it...

I'll be in Maryland this week and have arranged for time on the Chesapeake for stripers. Looking forward to feeling the thrum of a big striper on the end
of the line.

It's been cool, rainy, and windy since Alec left and I've not even entertained a thought of getting out. Water's still pretty cold, so don't
expect much improvement until mid-month, but the early ice-out and tremendous spate of sun/70s we had mid-April bodes well for the rest of the season....

Great posts guys, I also have been swamped at work and not getting out as I should... shame on me..Did get out to fish with my wife and son but it was spin
fishing, they don't flyfish... did pretty good. Good to hear some folks getting out.... I hope to post some pics soon. My truck, the last couple of weeks
was in the shop, just got it back, so now I am hauling my boat again. Beware fish, here I come...

I' ve been putting in about twenty hours a week fishing here in NYC. I fished in all five counties(NY, Bronx, Queens, Kings & Richmond) in April.
Yesterday I forgot to bring my camera and I caught some really big BGs on zug bugs and PT. Bass are active but no one here has had any luck with crappie, so
far. I've caught a number of small bass in Prospect park lake; less than 12" long. I've got some leads on carp lurking in the local ponds &
i will check out these...
